Simon is a 31yr old professional drummer and drum tutor based in Newbury - with over 20 years of playing experience, 8 years tuition experience and more than a decade working in the live music industry.

He began drumming in 2003 and pursued music into secondary school, GCSE and A-level, achieving Grade 8 drum kit with Distinction in 2011. In 2013, Simon went on to study at the Academy of Contemporary Music, graduating in 2015 with a 2:1 BMus(Hons) Degree in Professional Music Performance.

Simon has been building a strong reputation as a Drum Tutor since 2017. Initially working with Rocksteady Music School, he then undertook further tuition work with Hogan Music and The Rock Project, before launching his own private tuition business in 2020. In 2021, he joined St Gabriels School (Newbury) and Blessed Hugh Faringdon School (Reading) as Drum Kit and Percussion Tutor - teaching 1-to-1 lessons and percussion workshops and teaching at both schools until the end of 2024.

Simons work as a professional drummer has also expanded rapidly over the last few years. Having performed at hundreds of weddings and similar functions since 2016, his gigging calendar now regularly includes theatre shows, tribute acts, cruise ship work and international festivals & residencies, alongside his teaching commitments. Simons 2025 shows have included tribute festivals in Malta, Cruise work across Central America & the Caribbean and UK-wide theatre shows with tributes to Bruno Mars, Lionel Richie, Coldplay, The Small Faces, Becky Hill, Celine Dion and Morgan Wallen.

​As an active, full-time professional musician, Simon brings real-world experience, industry insight and a passion for teaching to every lesson - helping students of all ages and abilities develop solid technique, musical confidence and a genuine love for drumming.
