DRUM LESSONS IN NEWBURY,
THATCHAM & BERKSHIRE
Whether you want to rock out to your favourite songs, work towards grades or simply learn an instrument, I guarantee a fantastic learning experience for all ages and abilities. My relaxed but professional approach as a drum teacher gives my students the BEST chance of achieving their musical aspirations, whilst having fun at the same time!
All drum lessons take place at your home in Berkshire (around Newbury, Thatcham, Reading) and for 1-to-1 lessons an electric kit can even be provided.
Why Choose Me?
I started playing the Drums in 2003 and have been teaching music full time since 2017. This included teaching music to over 300 schoolchildren a week. As well as developing many teaching techniques, this also gave me invaluable experience teaching music to children with special educational needs such as autism, cerebral palsy and downs syndrome.
At 26 years old, my education and learning experiences are still very fresh in my mind. I find it very easy to relate to primary and secondary school children (language, trends, music tastes etc), maybe more so than an older music teacher would! That said, music is a universal language and I'm extremely comfortable teaching all ages and abilities.
All lessons take place at your home, and for 1-to-1 lessons an electric kit can even be provided. This means as a parent, you don't need to worry about driving to a studio, getting stuck in traffic or buying any expensive musical equipment!
My qualifications include a BA(Hons) Degree and Higher Diploma in Professional Music Performance, and a Distinction in my Rockschool Grade 8 Drum exam. I'm also fully DBS checked, so you can rest assured that you're in safe hands.

Learning to play your favourite songs
Playing various musical styles

How far are you willing to travel?
I'm happy to teach drums all over West Berkshire - most lessons take place around Newbury and Thatcham but I'm very happy to teach further afield. Lessons outside of a 10 mile radius from me (RG19) will likely be subject to a small fee to cover fuel expenses. For full lesson terms, please refer to my tuition guideline and terms.
Who can learn to play the Drums?
Anyone! You're never too young or too old to start learning the drums. I'm extremely happy teaching all ages and abilities and lesson content can be planned accordingly. For more information around the benefits of drumming, check out my blog page!
Should we invest in a drum kit?
It is highly recommended that students have a drum kit at home (either acoustic or electronic) to practice at home, and to use during lessons. If students have the right musical equipment, their practice time will be more productive, and in turn, they will progress more during their drum lessons.
