All drum lessons take place at your home in West Berkshire (Newbury, Thatcham etc), and for 1-to-1 lessons an electric drum kit can even be provided.

Experience
Simon has been playing the drums since 2003, and teaching music since 2017. He has previously taught music to over 300 schoolchildren per week, and is experienced in teaching a wide range of special educational needs.
Assurance
Simon has achieved a BA(Hons) Degree in Contemporary Music Performance, and a Disinction in his Grade 8 RSL drum exam. He is a registered RSL awards teacher and also fully DBS checked, so you know you're
in safe hands.
Convenience
Lessons take place at your home and all equipment can even be provided. For parents and guardians, this means you don't have to drive to a studio, get stuck in traffic, and you can invest in your own kit when the time is right for you.
Relevance
At 28 years of age, Simon is young enough to relate to primary and secondary school students' language, music and recreational trends, but also experienced enough to provide fantastic personalised lessons to all ages and abilities.

Who can learn to play the Drums?
Simon is extremely happy teaching all ages and abilities, though the recommended minimum age is 6yrs old. Lesson content can be planned accordingly depending on age, ability and learning styles. For more information around the benefits of drumming, check out Simon's blog page.
What type of drum kit should we purchase?
Simon is always happy to discuss the benefits of both electronic and acoustic drum kits, as well as advising on reliable brands for both. He has an excellent knowledge on both types of kit and can confidently recommend different models for both types, whether your budget is big or small.
How far do you travel for lessons?
Most lessons take place in Newbury and Thatcham, though Simon occasionally teaches further afield if his teaching schedule allows. Lessons outside Newbury and Thatcham are subject to a small petrol fee. For more info, please see Simon's tuition guidelines and terms.
What equipment can you provide?
For £5 per lesson, Simon can provide an equipment bundle, which includes a Yamaha DTX-432K electric drum kit, a JBL music speaker, drumsticks, stool, music stand and all wires/cables. All he will need is access to 2 plug sockets, and enough space to set up the equipment.
